The NRA Museums will be exhibiting Serial Number One Guns at Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show April 7 & 8, 2018. In most cases, these historic milestones represent the first gun of that model produced. They will include:
- Colt Model 1851 Navy, .40 caliber, serial number 1. This prototype revolver dates from the 1850s.
- S&W Schofield serial number 1. This revolver was US military issue during the Indian Wars era, and then purchased as surplus by the Wells Fargo Express Company to arm their messengers.
These guns are from the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield MO, just three hours' drive east of Tulsa.
The Tulsa Arms show is the world's largest gun show. The NRA Museums booth is at the top of the stairs between the two levels. NRA Museums Director Jim Supica will be staffing the booth. He is co-host of the NRA Gun Gurus show on NRA TV.
